When Trying Harder Isn’t Working.
A Facilitated Recalibration Experience
Why Trying Harder Isn't the Answer
The popular narrative says momentum must constantly be built, maintained, or accelerated. When progress stalls or exhaustion sets in, the standard directive is simple: dig deeper and push harder.
But when we face persistent overwhelm, treating it as a time-management issue or a personal failure doesn't work. When the underlying variables of momentum are left unexamined, forcing forward motion does not create progress—it creates severe friction, misalignment, and systemic burnout.
The Overwhelm Narrative is Broken
What We Do Differently
This teaching is advanced-level wellness, not a life hack or a self-help idea. We use fundamental concepts from the physics formula for momentum to deconstruct overwhelm, then we work on it together, in real time. We look past the abstract feeling of "stress" to examine the concrete variables that govern our daily reality. That is how we make life feel lighter.
Deconstructing the Overwhelm
Mass: The literal load of commitments, responsibilities, and structural obligation we carry. More mass makes it harder to speed up, slow down, or change direction.
Velocity: The total energy released in a specific direction. We assess whether the relentless urgency of day-to-day tasks is costing us our broader purpose.
Friction: The internal and external misalignment that slows progress down. This includes poor boundaries, lack of resources, lack of accountability or integrity.
Gravity: The relentless external pressures and unexamined stories that give our responsibilities their weight.
The Recalibration Experience
This is an interactive experience. I teach the frameworks and the group participates with reflective exercises and facilitated conversation. Your group leaves with a shared vocabulary for the moments momentum feels off, and with the confidence to use it.
Formats: Half day or Full day. Collaborative Deep Dives: one session, or a series, customized to your group's needs.
Who it is for: Leadership teams, whole departments, boards and committees, chapters, clubs, membership and civic groups, congregations, and retreat groups.
