The Formula
You are not crazy. You are not making any of this up.
Heavy is not a personality trait. It is momentum, and momentum has variables. Once you can name the variable, you can adjust it.
momentum = mass × velocity
and two forces act on it: friction and gravity
Load is mass. Pace is velocity. Friction is friction. Stories are gravity.
Prefer to watch instead of read? There is a ten-minute version of this page in the Library.
Mass the load
The literal weight of commitments, responsibilities and obligations. The more there is, the harder it is to speed up, slow down or change direction.
Ask: what is on my plate, and who put it there?
Velocity the pace
Energy spent in a direction. Momentum is not just speed, it is speed toward something. Urgency is easy to mistake for purpose.
Ask: how fast am I going, and toward what?
Friction the resistance
The misalignment that slows progress: boundaries that are not held, resources that are not there, accountability that is missing on both sides.
Ask: what is fighting me that should not be?
Gravity the stories
The unexamined story that gives a responsibility its weight. Read it back. Ask whether it is a story you want to believe.
Ask: what do I think happens if I stop?

The Formula Key
A 16-page self-coaching workbook. Take a reading to find your dominant variable, learn the Four-Legged Framework, choose one small experiment, and keep a weekly check-in so it becomes a practice instead of a read.
- Take a reading find your dominant variable
- The Four-Legged Framework four practices, not four rules
- One small move one experiment per variable
- Bonus prompts and a weekly check-in

Get the KeyThe Four-Legged Framework
Four practices that hold up the work. Take one, leave the rest for later.
Practice in any amount
Five minutes counts. A small true thing done today beats a large plan that starts Monday.
Maintain appropriate boundaries
A boundary is not a wall. It is a statement about what you can hold without dropping something that matters more.
Use AND statements generously
Two things can be true. I love this work AND it is costing me. AND is how you stay in the room without lying to yourself.
Give uncertainty more space and time
Clarity does not arrive under pressure. Sometimes the next right move is a week of not deciding.
If you would rather watch than read, the video in the Library draws all four of these at a whiteboard.
If you are navigating a moment that feels pressured or unclear, you do not have to sort it out alone.
